UCSB Directory Service (online)

The UCSB Directory Service is an electronic database containing data for each student, faculty and staff member at UCSB. Emeriti and affiliates of various kinds are also included. If you are included in either the Registrar's database of students or the UCSB Payroll/Personnel (PPS) system, you will also have an entry in the UCSB Directory Service.

Using your web browser, you may register with the UCSB Directory Service, establish a password, and modify certain fields (e.g., email address, telephone number, working title, and working department). You are encouraged to keep your personal data up to date because the UCSB Directory is the source for the printed directories published by the campus, the Associated Students, and the UC Office of the President. The UCSB Directory is also the place where people, including UCSB's campus operators, are likely to look for information on how to contact you.

Departments, Offices, and Services (online)

Communications Services' Campus Directory of Departments, Offices, and Services is an online listing of telephone and address information for UCSB departments, offices, and services.

To update current departmental listings, an authorized departmental representative should send an email to help@commserv.ucsb.edu. The email should include both the current listing and the requested change.

Campus Directory (printed)

Once each year, usually in August, records are extracted from the UCSB Directory Service (described above) and published in a printed directory called the Campus Directory. The Campus Directory also includes data and contact information for UCSB departments and organizations.

The Campus Directory is intended exclusively for the use of university personnel, and is provided only to faculty and staff. An order form is made available to all campus departments, and the directories are delivered in the fall. Additional copies can be purchased at any time of year by calling Communications Services' Customer Services section at extension 8700.

Website Directory (online)

The Office of Public Affairs maintains the A-Z Index, an online, alphabetical listing of UCSB websites.

Zip+4 Mail Codes (online)

UCSB Mail Services maintains an alphabetical listing of Zip+4 Mail Codes for UCSB departments.

U-Mail Student Directory (online)

UCSB's U-Mail Student Directory allows users to search for email addresses of registered UCSB students who have active U-Mail accounts.

Student Directory (printed)

The Associated Students of UCSB publish an annual Student Directory, which includes telephone numbers for university departments, faculty, and staff. Off-campus agencies or vendors can obtain a copy of this directory by visiting the Associated Students office in the University Center. Their telephone number is 893-2566.

University of California Directory (printed)

The Office of the President publishes a university-wide directory each year. Listed in this directory are faculty, administrative officers, and staff members whose job duties require UC system-wide interactions. In January, a limited number of these are distributed throughout the UCSB campus. Prior to publication, departments are given the opportunity to add, change, or delete entries for this directory, usually in August.

Other UC Campus Directories (online)

Links to online telephone directories for other UC campuses are available at the UC Directories site.

Verizon Santa Barbara Directory (printed)

Each spring an email message is sent to every department requesting changes, additions, or deletions to their current listings in the yellow or white pages of the Verizon Santa Barbara directory. Any department can request a listing in this directory. The monthly charges from Verizon for the listing will be passed on to the department through Communications Services' voice services billing.

In the fall, Communications Services distributes copies of the Verizon Santa Barbara directory. Additional copies, as well as Verizon directories for other areas, can be requested Communications Services' Customer Services section at extension 8700.
