UC Committees

The UC Information Technology Leadership Council includes Chief Information Officers and senior information technology leaders from UCOP, the campuses, medical centers, and UC managed national laboratories. The Council was created to serve as a system-wide venue for collective action in response to rapidly changing technology, the challenges of legislative and regulatory mandates, and the UC fiscal constraints that require us to make the most of our investment in IT.

The ITLC replaces the UC system-wide Joint Operations Group (see below). UCSB campus representatives to the ITLC are OIT Associate Director Elise Meyer and IS&C Acting Director Arlene Allen.

Superseded in fall 2003 by the Information Technology Leadership Council (see above), JOG consisted of representatives from each campus/lab, and from UCOP’s Information Resources and Communications Department. It provided advice to the Associate Vice President, Information Technology and Chief Information Officer of the University of California system. JOG was a planning group with responsibility for information systems development and reviews, and advised on the University Information Systems Plan, resource allocations, standards for systems development and operations, and processes and operational issues pertaining to information systems. JOG members prepared and delivered the information technology presentation at the UC Business Officers Institute.

This group consists of representatives from each campus/lab, and from UCOP’s Information Resources and Communications Department. It provides advice to the Associate Vice President, Information Technology and Chief Information Officer.

UCITPSO is comprised of technical staff, and works to address shared operational challenges arising from the interaction of new policies, legislation, and security threats in the electronic world. The group's membership is drawn from all ten campuses and the Office of the President.
